Yes, I'm going to write a whiny post complaining about my life that is actually pretty great but I'm feeling very annoyed.
It's my blog, I'll whine if I want to...
Anyway,
I don't know how I feel about blogging lately... oh wait... yes I do.
DISCOURAGED.
Why, you may ask..
Well I feel like all I ever do is link ups and I don't really talk about me or my life anymore. BUT it's the link ups that seem to get anyone's attention.
How come when I write a personla post, noooooooone comments??? It's frustrating. Isn't it the personal posts that let people connect with you? Or was I wrong?
Am I just doing something wrong? I need feedback!
And then, I have my first giveaway, which I am about to delete because NO ONE is entering in it or commenting or showing any interest AT ALL.
So someone can have a giveaway for a stupid plastic gift card and some ad space and people come running? But when someone has a giveaway for something that actually BENEFITS YOU AND SOMEONE ELSE no one shows any interest? Really? I love the blogging community but that really dissapoints me. Are we so wrapped up in clothes and ad space that we can't take time to do something that will benefit a good cause??
Like, WTF is going on!?
I write because I love it. It is my passion. It is my life. I run this blog because I love sharing my life but what's the point of sharing it here if no one is going to show any interest?
I can write in my journal and get the same kinda connection. I've gained followers yes, and its not even about the number of followers I have. I just want people to friggin connect and comment. I am not a no-reply blogger. I talk to people. I'm not scary and I don't bite. I don't even get bad comments. At least bash my blog if you aren't going to respond to it.
OK.... rant over.
I hope everyone is having a better Wednesday than me lol
I still consider myself a newbie--I've been blogging for a year. I've felt discouraged and uninspired several times over the past 12 months. I don't have nearly as much time to read as I once did and if I do link up then I generally read every single post of all the other linkers. I've found many of my fave blogs and bloggers thru link-ups. I hope you keep blogging thru this rough patch and continue to promote your posts whether they are personal or part of a link up.
ReplyDeleteI can understand your frustration. Sometimes I think the posts that really mean something get no comments at all. But that doesn't mean that people aren't reading. When it comes down to it, I write for me and for my family...anything else is just a bonus.

I'm sorry Mel! I entered your giveaway. :(
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to tell what will get comments and what won't sometimes. And giveaways seem to be hit or miss, though there are places you can link those to to get more entries! And p.s. if you link up early on in PYHO, you tend to get more visitors. ;)
